Yes, our Social Studies Suitcase came again this week! The suitcase included some unusual items. Who would have used: corn; soup; crayons; pork; a beaded pouch; and a compass? Of course Lewis, Clark, and Sacagawea would have used these items for their journey to discover a route to the Pacific Ocean. Thomas Jefferson asked Lewis to gather a group to explore the Louisiana Purchase.
In Science we learned about Magnets and the items they repel or attract. Ask your child about magnet safety around certain items in your home; the types of magnets we used in experiments; how to float a magnet; and items that are repelled or attracted by magnets. Reminders for next week: *Canned Food Drive: November 16-20 *Thanksgiving Lunch: Tuesday, November 17 at 11:40 *Tiger Trot: November 20 during specials (9:05-9:55) Please note: families who previously donated a lump sum to PTA/PAWS, your children will each receive a pedometer. *Winterfest Donations: Please send cocoa mix for our December 5 tree lighting. *Talent Show permission slips are due by November 20.
