Thank you to Amanda Marinello and all the parents who volunteered their time and/or donated items for our Winter Holiday Celebration! The children had a wonderful time creating: glitter candles; tie-dyed cookies; tie-dyed t-shirts; ice cream cone ornaments; candy necklaces; and snow shakers.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday season. See you in 2016! Peace, Love, First Grade!

Happy Holidays! What a busy and exciting time of year!
*Thank you to Amanda Marinello for organizing our Winter Celebration on Wednesday, December 16 at 12:00. Please let her know if you'd be willing to donate items and/or volunteer to run a center. We'd love to see all of you there! *For the last two weeks of the quarter, I have been busily assessing each student on sight words and/or reading levels. Thank you for supporting literacy at home; the children are making great strides! *Last Friday, room 233 had 2 visitors: Mr. Dan and Ms. Aimee from Croy Engineering came and spoke to us about their jobs as civil engineers. They brought a life-size traffic signal. Did you know they are over 3 feet tall? *Peace, Love, First Grade! .Happy December! Where does the time go? We welcomed a visitor to room 233...our elf on the shelf, Snowflake! He appeared last Monday and hid in several different places around our room. He loved Ameir's book about football and sported a jersey and made a goalpost for a quick game. He rode a reindeer as if it were a horse, and on Friday he took a spelling test like we did. Where will he be next?
The Santa Shop will be open next week, and our time slot is at 8:10 on Monday morning. Bring your money and list, if you wish to shop. Barnes and Noble night was fun! I enjoyed reading to Lincoln, James, and Jack. James shopped, and I wrapped his purchase, too. Amanda Marinello will be contacting you about donations for our Holiday Party at 12:00 on Wednesday, December 16. During math centers, we rotated through our "Treasure Trading Post" trading tens and ones to purchase items...fun! Peace, Love, First Grade! |
