Thank you to Amanda Marinello for organizing our fall centers on Friday, October 30. We had so much fun: decorating a pumpkin cookie; creating a shaker; playing alphabet bingo; designing a pumpkin; and shopping for our goodie bag items. Thank you to Jake's mom and Addison's grandma for volunteering to run centers and to the parents who donated items.
Reminders: Teasley will collect unwanted Halloween Candy on Monday, November 2. Picture retakes will be Tuesday, November 3. Have a great week! Peace, love, first grade!

What a busy week! Thank you for meeting with me to discuss your child's progress. Narrative stories will be sent home this week, as we begin writing informational stories.
Career Day was educational and fun! We loved learning about many careers and seeing rescue vehicles. A special thanks to Betsy Massie, our resident environmental scientist and mother to Jack. This week is Red Ribbon Week. Please read the email sent by Amanda Marinello to see specific events/days. Amanda has eagerly sent emails and sign-ups to plan our first center rotation: Fall Centers will be in our room on Friday, October 30 from 12:00-1:30. Please let Amanda know if you wish to volunteer. Thank you to the 4 volunteers who have already volunteered. Our October Spelling Test will be on Friday as well, so please help your child practice all 15 October words and anticipate any 5 from the September list. I am hoping to learn how to have you subscribe to receive my blogs each week. Thank you for your patience as I ask for expert advice! Peace, Love, First Grade! Thank you to Bill Clements aka "Ben Franklin" for visiting Teasley. The students will be donating a copy of Now and Ben to his collection of books about the famous American.
A HUGE thanks to Addison's mom, Amanda Marinello, for creating our beautiful new picture directories. They are amazing!! :) Please remember that we will dismiss 2 hours early for conferences next week. Conferences run back-to-back, so please be prompt. I look forward to talking with you about your child. Career Day will be Friday, October 23. Thank you to those who volunteered to present to students. What an exciting week! Our Welcome Team Members, Addison and James, escorted "Ben Franklin" to our media center for an informational presentation. We learned so much from "Ben" aka Bill Clements.
Please return your conference forms ASAP. Our snack basket is nearly empty. Please refill it with 24 individual snacks. Peace, Love, First Grade! Congratulations to our new Welcome Team Members: Addison and James! They will welcome all visitors, new students, and retrieve our Social Studies Suitcase of famous Americans from the Media Center each quarter.
We discovered a collection of objects in our first suitcase: a kite, keys, vitamin C, letter stamps, a fireman's hat, glasses, a $100 bill, and a grabber. If you guessed Benjamin Franklin, you're right! In fact, "Benjamin Franklin" will visit us on Tuesday, October 6. Please return conference forms ASAP, so that I can best prepare for your appointment. We wore our new t-shirts on our Puppetry Arts field trip. I have washed them and am looking for a group of parents to help us tie-dye them. Please let me know if you are interested in donating tie dye kits and/or helping us dye them. Peace, Love, First Grade! |
